Vice President Roy Leonard (l.) presents Rob Paine, Volunteer Spokesman for the Alzheimer’s Association of Eastern North Carolina, a donation from the Club and our famous HUBS peanuts as a thank-you to Rob for speaking at our meeting.
In addition to being a spokesman for Alzheimer’s, Rob serves as Communications Director for the New Bern Newcomers Club and as a spokesman for the New Bern Breakfast Rotary Club. He is also a very successful photojournalist and has won dozens of awards for both journalism and photography work and currently runs his own freelance business.
He shared with our membership that the Alzheimer’s Association of ENC leads the way to end Alzheimer’s and all other forms of dementia by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. Over 5 million Americans suffer from this disease which not only affects the patient but also the family, friends, and caregivers who take care of them.
