What is the Waccamaw Bundle?

Club members recently collected supplies for the Waccamaw Bundle. What is the Waccamaw Bundle? One of the Club’s charities is the Boys and Girls Homes of NC. This is a residential facility that houses and educates abused and neglected children on a campus on Lake Waccamaw. These youngsters arrive at the Homes with virtually nothing – carrying their belongings in plastic garbage bags.

The items donated to the “Bundle” are given to new children arriving at the Homes so they will have, maybe for the first time, their own possessions. Luggage and backpacks are especially valued as they replace the plastic bags with which the children arrive. The children housed here are aged 6 to 18 years old. This facility has an amazing success rate in helping children grow and thrive. You can read about the items we collect (and donate!) for the “Bundles” here.
